My parents love being outside. They often do outdoor sports such as skiing or surfing. This is why ever since I was very young, I have gone hiking with my family.
I live far away from my parents now, but I visit every year. When we see each other, we always do at least one hike. My parents live in the Columbia River Gorge in America, which is famous for beautiful nature and hiking trails.
The picture above is of Horsethief Butte, one of the hiking areas near my parents' home. There aren't many trees in this area, so if you climb to the top of the butte you can see everything around you.
There are also many hiking trails near forests and waterfalls near my parents' home. The most famous of these is probably Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the region.
I love visiting my parents because every time I see them, we continue the family tradition of hiking together.
