Having spent about a year living in Seoul, I had the unique opportunity to fully immerse myself in the vibrant life of Korea's dynamic capital. This city, where ancient traditions meet modern innovation, continually fascinated and delighted me.

My journey began with exploring Seoul’s historical treasures. Majestic palaces like Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung became familiar sites, each visit revealing more about Korea’s royal heritage. Walking through these palaces, with their exquisite gardens and intricate architecture, felt like stepping back in time.

Living in Seoul also allowed me to experience its modern pulse. Neighborhoods such as Gangnam and Myeongdong quickly became my go-to spots for shopping and entertainment. The streets buzz with energy, from luxury boutiques and trendy cafes to vibrant nightlife. The city's tech-savvy culture was a constant reminder of its forward-thinking spirit.

One of the highlights of my stay was the food. Seoul’s culinary scene is incredibly diverse and delicious. From savoring traditional Korean barbecue and street food in Gwangjang Market to dining at upscale restaurants offering modern twists on classic dishes, my taste buds were constantly delighted. Iconic dishes like kimchi, bibimbap, and tteokbokki became staples in my diet.

Seoul’s commitment to arts and entertainment enriched my experience. I attended K-pop concerts, explored the avant-garde exhibitions at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and enjoyed public art along the Cheonggyecheon Stream. The city's vibrant cultural scene offered endless opportunities for engagement and enjoyment.

Nature seamlessly integrates into Seoul’s urban landscape, providing serene escapes from the city's hustle and bustle. The Han River, with its picturesque picnic spots and water sports, and Namsan Mountain, with its peaceful hiking trails and stunning views from the N Seoul Tower, became my favorite retreats.

Navigating Seoul was a breeze thanks to its efficient public transportation system. The extensive subway network made exploring the city convenient and stress-free, allowing me to discover every corner of this captivating metropolis.

My year in Seoul was an unforgettable adventure. The city’s dynamic blend of history, culture, and modernity left a lasting impression on me. Whether wandering through ancient palaces, indulging in contemporary luxuries, or savoring diverse cuisine, Seoul offered an immersion into a rich and vibrant capital that I will always cherish.
