A South African Easter Tale

Teacher DORIAN

In April South Africans get a glorious long weekend thanks to Easter - a time when bunnies hop, hot cross buns pop, and families stop...to chill!

Easter is all about remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus. But here? It's also about dodging traffic to get to granma's house before the pickled fish runs out.

Churches fill up, kids dress like angels (or try), and aunties compete over whose potato salad slaps harder. Meanwhile, someone's always burning the chops at the braai because they're too busy arguing about the rugby score.

And let's not forget: the Easter egg hunt. A serious competition. Uncle Joe once tackled a bush because he thought it was hiding a chocolate bunny. Spoiler: it wasn't.

In short - faith, family, food, and fun.
Easter in South Africa? It's a vibe!
