Her mom loved baking and she used to bring me freshly baked bread. The smell of the bread is so tempting that I could hardly wait to taste a slice of it. That was years ago but my heart clearly remembers the smell of the homemade bread with her shiny smile.
Well, I got board staying at home all day yesterday, and it was around 3:00 p.m when I realised so I made myself driving to my favorite place. The owner bakes the best muffin I ever had!! I don't bake muffins anymore as I know the better ones.
The store is in the middle of nowhere and it is always a fun escape to drive there. She welcomed me with a joyful smile. We had some catchups so we chatted at the counter as we always do. Then she invited me to a cafe she and her husband started in the shop recently. I immediately fell in love with the cafe! I knew it was my type of place to be at. I walked to find "my tale and chair" then.
Luckily there were three muffins left and I was able to have one of them. Guess what muffin it is?
A banana caramel muffin!!
The warmth of the cafe fullfilled my heart. Thanks to the time and the place they offer, my bordom had gone by then. I also loved the music and coffee there.
As I was ready to leave the shop, the three of us was standing at the casher, chatting about the muffin and the coffee I had, music, funiture and other things we love. Then she handed me a loaf of bread for me. It was still warm and I could tell the bread was just out of the oven.
It was such a joyous surprise to me and how I longed for the next morning to slice and taste the bread.
Her whole act of kindness and bread reminded me of her mother. I can say it is her nature and something she inherited from her mother, she doesn't want to admit though.
I believe we all have something inherited from our mother.
