Goodbye, 2025! Hello, 2026!

Therese DB

The year 2025 was interesting and eventful.

The biggest event was that I retired after teaching for 43 years.

I also attended several cultural events in my city (Cape Town) like the Japan Day, the Taiwan Festival as well as the Korean Festival where I experienced the culture and food of those Asian countries. These events have become very popular in my country, South Africa.

I also attended the first screenings of the anime movies Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer.  I really enjoyed them.

In 2026 I am starting a brand new chapter of my life.  Now that I am retired from my full-time job, I hope to have the time and opportunity to experience many more events like these and also work on learning new languages myself (I am currently learning Spanish and Japanese, so I understand and relate to the challenges of learning a new language).

I am also so excited to be teaching online and I am looking forward to meeting new students and helping them with their journey in English.
