3 Fun Tricks to Remember New English Words Forever!

Miss Yvonne

Have you ever learned a new English word... and then completely forgotten it the next day? You're not alone! This happens to almost every learner. The good news? It's not your fault — you just need the right tricks. Here are my top 3 favorites that I use with all my students!

Trick 1: Draw a silly picture: When you learn a word, draw a funny picture next to it. Your brain loves pictures more than plain text! The sillier the drawing, the better you'll remember it.

Trick 2: Say it out loud 3 times: Don't just read the word, say it! Whisper it, shout it, or sing it. Using your voice helps move the word from your short-term memory to your long-term memory.

Trick 3: Use it in a sentence about you: Make the word personal! If the word is "exhausted," write: "I was exhausted after eating too much pizza." You'll never forget words that are connected to your real life.

"Learning English is like learning a superpower. You just need the right training!"

The secret is simple: make learning fun and personal. You don't need to study for hours every day. Even 10 minutes of practice with these tricks can make a huge difference. Try them tonight with just 5 new words. I promise you'll be surprised by how much you remember tomorrow!
