This is a little story I wrote to illustrate the idiom 'A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing’

As a struggling student, Tuli was grateful for her Saturday job at the local antique store. It was a lovely little shop, with an impressive collection of vintage furniture, rare artifacts, and unique trinkets. The owner, Miss Lulu, was a sweet elderly lady with a friendly smile and a kind word for everyone. It was easy money for Tuli, but business was very slow. There were days when not one customer came into the shop. It was a mystery to Tuli how Miss Lulu managed to pay the rent.

One morning, Tuli was walking past the antique store on her way to the bus stop, when she spotted a shady figure with a dark hoodie and sunglasses slipping into the store, carrying a large briefcase. As Tuli boarded the bus, she glanced back and saw the man leaving the store without the briefcase. Tuli decided to report her suspicions to the police.

It turned out that Miss Lulu was already under investigation due to inconsistencies in the store's financial records. Solid evidence combined with Tuli’s circumstantial evidence led to the arrest of Miss Lulu. She had been smuggling in cash from a cocaine ring and using the antique store to launder her dirty money.

Tuli learned through this experience that appearances can be deceiving. Far from being the sweet little old lady that she pretended to be, Miss Lulu was a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
