June is almost here, so I have been thinking about my goals for the month.
I do not mean big, serious goals. Of course, big goals are important too. But this month, I want to focus on small goals.
Small goals are nice because they feel possible. They help us move forward little by little. They can also make daily life more interesting and more meaningful.
So today, I want to share some of my small goals for June.
Goal 1: Go camping with my sons
One of my biggest “small goals” for June is to go camping with my sons near Naruko Onsen in northern Miyagi Prefecture.
We are planning to camp for three days and two nights.
I am really looking forward to it.
Naruko is a beautiful area with mountains, trees, fresh air, and hot springs. I hope we can enjoy simple camping food, take walks, relax outside, and visit an onsen too.
Camping with children is not always perfectly peaceful. Sometimes someone gets tired. Sometimes someone gets hungry at the wrong time. Sometimes the tent is harder to set up than expected.
But that is part of the adventure.
I hope my sons and I can make some good memories together. I also hope we can spend a little less time with screens and a little more time looking at the sky, trees, fire, and stars.
Goal 2: Cheer for Vegalta Sendai
Another goal for June is to go to Vegalta Sendai home games and cheer them on.
I really enjoy going to Yurtec Stadium. There is something special about cheering together with many other fans.
When everyone sings, claps, and hopes for the same result, the stadium feels alive.
Of course, I want Vegalta to win. That is very important!
But even when the game is difficult, I still enjoy being there. Supporting a local team is not only about the final score. It is also about community, energy, and feeling connected to the place where you live.
So in June, I want to go to the stadium, cheer loudly, and enjoy the experience with my family.
Goal 3: Spend time outside
June in Japan can be rainy, so this goal may not be easy every day.
But I still want to spend as much time outside as possible.
Even a short walk can help me feel better. When I am busy with work, family, and daily life, I sometimes forget how helpful fresh air can be.
So my goal is simple:
Go outside more.
It does not have to be special. A walk around the neighborhood is enough. A short bike ride is enough. Sitting outside with coffee for ten minutes is enough.
Small moments can still be valuable.
Goal 4: Enjoy simple family time
Another goal is to enjoy more simple family time.
This does not always mean doing something big. Actually, some of the best family moments are very ordinary.
For example:
- eating dinner together
- watching a movie
- playing Jenga
- walking to the park
- talking before bedtime
- laughing about something silly
Life gets busy, so I want to notice these moments more.
Sometimes happiness is not something we need to search for far away. Sometimes it is already right in front of us.
Goal 5: Keep learning little by little
My last goal is to keep learning little by little.
This is a good goal for English learners too.
You do not need to study for many hours every day to improve. Of course, hard work is important. But small, steady practice is powerful.
For example, you can:
- learn three new words
- read one short article
- write a few sentences
- watch one short video in English
- practice one useful phrase
- speak for one minute about your day
These small actions can become a habit. And habits can create real progress.
A simple June challenge
So here is my question for you:
What is one small goal you have for June?
It can be anything.
Maybe you want to study English a little more. Maybe you want to exercise. Maybe you want to cook something new. Maybe you want to rest more. Maybe you want to spend more time with your family or friends.
Your goal does not have to be perfect or impressive.
It just has to be yours.
For me, June will hopefully include camping, football, family time, fresh air, and small steps forward.
That sounds like a pretty good month to me.
Thanks for reading!
