What I Enjoyed Learning as a Student

Weekly Topic: What I enjoyed learning as a student

Assal

One of the things I loved most about being a student was discovering that learning could completely change the way I looked at the world.

If I had to choose one subject that I truly enjoyed, it would be psychology. I was fascinated by the way people think, make decisions, and interact with one another. It wasn't just about memorizing theories, it was about understanding real life. Every lesson seemed to answer questions I had always wondered about, while also giving me even more questions to explore.

What made learning exciting wasn't simply earning good grades. It was the feeling of connecting ideas and realizing that knowledge could be applied outside the classroom. I found myself observing everyday situations differently, becoming more curious, and asking "why" far more often than before.

Looking back, I also realize how much my teachers influenced my attitude toward learning. The ones who encouraged discussion, welcomed different opinions, and made lessons interactive were the ones I remember most. They created an environment where curiosity was valued more than perfection.

That experience has shaped the way I teach today. I believe learning should be engaging, practical, and enjoyable. Whether we're discussing current events, improving communication skills, or exploring new vocabulary, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and learning through conversation rather than fear of making mistakes.

Although I finished school years ago, I still consider myself a student. There is always something new to discover, another perspective to understand, or another skill to develop. That's one of the things I enjoy most about learning, it never really ends.

How about you? Is there a subject you still remember enjoying at school? I'd love to hear about it in one of our lessons!
