Hello everyone! I'm Meg, living in Taiwan.
So, why on earth did I leave my kindergarten job after a year and a half, even though the kids were so adorable...?
The answer is simple... "To go to graduate school!"
...Now, you might think, "Wow, she must really love studying!" But let me set the record straight right here.
I DO NOT LIKE STUDYING AT ALL (haha)!!!
When I decided to go to grad school, even my mom was genuinely shocked and went, "Wait, YOU? Grad school?!" (haha).
So why did someone who hates studying decide to enroll in a Taiwanese graduate school? There were three very simple and pragmatic reasons:

No written entrance exam was required.

The tuition was crazy cheap.

It looks awesome on a resume (A degree from a Taiwanese university! Perfect for flight attendant applications!).
...And that's it (haha)!
In other words, it wasn't because I was deeply passionate about the Japanese language, nor was it to pursue a long-term teaching career. It was purely to become a Flight Attendant (CA)! (I probably shouldn't be saying this out loud, but oh well! haha)
By the way, my Chinese level back then was super basic—just barely enough to go shopping.
You might wonder, "Were you really okay taking a grad school entrance exam with that Chinese level?!" Don't worry! Why? Because... it was the Department of Japanese Literature! (haha)
Without thinking twice, I just thought, "Lucky me! I got in!"
Little did I know... graduate school is famously "easy to get into, but ridiculously hard to get out of."
Clueless about what was coming, my chaotic graduate school life in Taiwan officially began!
