# Pronunciation Lesson Plan
*Lesson Topic: Improving English Pronunciation for Japanese Learners*
*Lesson Objectives:*
1. Improve pronunciation of the /θ/ sound.
2. Understand and practice rising and falling intonation patterns.
3. Develop fluency in short conversations.
*Lesson Plan:*
*Warm-Up (2 minutes)*
- Introduction and greeting
- Tongue twister: "The sun is shining brightly."
*Segment 1: Focus Sound (8 minutes)*
- Introduce the /θ/ sound (th as in "this")
- Practice words: "this," "that," "think," "thank"
- Repeat after the me and practice pronunciation!
*Segment 2: Intonation and Rhythm (8 minutes)*
- Explain rising and falling intonation patterns
- Practice sentences:
- Rising intonation: "You're going to the store?"
- Falling intonation: "I'm going to the store."
- Repeat after the me and practice pronunciation!
*Segment 3: Fluency Practice (5 minutes)*
- Practice a short conversation:
- Order food at a restaurant
- Use the /θ/ sound and practice intonation
*Conclusion (2 minutes)*
- Review lesson objectives
- Assign homework: Practice the /θ/ sound and listen to English podcasts or videos
