**Objective:** To practice fluency and accuracy in conversation through structured speaking activities in an online setting.
 
**Materials Needed:**
- Video conferencing platform (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
- Virtual whiteboard or online collaboration tool (like Google Jamboard)
- Timer (optional)
- Conversation prompt cards (could be shared digitally)
 
**Warm-up (5 minutes)**
1. **Greetings and Introduction**:
   - Log into the video conference and greet the students as they join.
   - Engage in a brief conversation about their day or week.
   - Encourage the use of common phrases for greetings and small talk.
 
**Activity 1: Discussion (10 minutes)**
2. **Topic Introduction**:
   - Share a discussion topic related to current events, culture, or a theme relevant to the learners’ interests.
   - Display a key question related to the topic on the virtual whiteboard or in the chat.
 
3. **Discussion Phase**:
   - Divide the class into breakout rooms (if the platform supports it) or pairs.
   - Instruct students to discuss the question for about 5 minutes.
   - Monitor and join breakout rooms to provide support as needed.
 
**Activity 2: Role Play (10 minutes)**
4. **Role Play Scenario**:
   - Provide a scenario related to everyday situations.
   - Assign roles to the students and explain their objectives (e.g., a customer and a service provider).
 
5. **Role Play Practice**:
   - Allow students a few minutes to prepare their roles and dialogues.
   - Conduct the role plays in the main session or in breakout rooms, depending on the platform capabilities.
   - Observe and provide feedback on language use, fluency, and appropriateness of expressions.
 
**Activity 3: Vocabulary and Feedback (5 minutes)**
6. **Vocabulary Review**:
   - Identify any new vocabulary or expressions that emerged during the activities.
   - Share the screen and write them down in a shared document or virtual whiteboard.
   - Discuss their meanings and usage briefly.
 
7. **Feedback and Wrap-up**:
   - Provide constructive feedback on overall performance, focusing on strengths and areas for improvement.
   - Allow time for students to ask questions and clarify any doubts about language use in an online context.
   - Summarize the key points covered in the lesson and relate them back to the initial learning objective.
 
**Homework (Optional):**
- Assign a simple task related to the day's topic, such as writing a short paragraph or preparing for a similar conversation in the next online class.
