Introduction to colours

In this lesson the student will learn  how to identify different colours and practice speaking and using simple sentences.
The lesson includes
  • Introduction to vocabulary by choosing colurs e.g red, blue, yellow, pink
  • Introducing the colours using flashcards,coloured objects e.g toys , pencils
  • Colour song game showing the colours 
  • Colour hunting activity the student will have to find objects in the classroom matching the colour
Activity 2
Flashcard game - the teacher will hold the flashcard and the student will say the name of the colour.
My teaching style - I will be friendly and using a lot of total physical response, flashcards, songs as this well help the students understand the lesson better.

Lesson outcomes
  • Students will be able to identify basic colours.
  • Say name of basic colours
  • Answering simple questions - What colour is it? 
  • Saying simple sentences eg It is red.
