Topic: Greetings and Introductions
Level: Beginner (A1)

Goal: Students will be able to greet others and introduce themselves using basic English phrases.

🕒 Lesson Breakdown
1. Warm-Up (5 min)

Greet the student: "Hello! How are you today?"

Ask: "Do you know how to say 'hello' in English?"
2. Vocabulary (10 min)
Teach/review key words:

Hello / Hi
-
Goodbye / Bye
-
What’s your name?
-
My name is __.
-
Where are you from?
-
I’m from __.
🗣 Practice pronunciation with the student.
3. Dialogue Practice (10–15 min)
👫 Use a short sample conversation:
A: Hello! What’s your name?
B: My name is Sarah. What’s your name?
A: I’m Tom. Nice to meet you!
B: Nice to meet you too. Where are you from?
A: I’m from Canada. And you?
B: I’m from Brazil.
Have students repeat and then role-play with each other or with you.
4. Controlled Practice (10 min)
Ask students individually:

"What’s your name?"
-
"Where are you from?"
-
Have them ask you too.
Use name cards or country flags for visual support if needed.
5. Wrap-Up & Homework (5 min)

Review what was learned

Assign optional homework: "Write 3 sentences: Your name, your country, and your favorite color.
