Have you ever wondered why Japanese people do certain things differently but struggled to explain the reason in English?

In this lesson, we’ll explore the unspoken rules, customs and everyday behaviours that make Japanese culture so fascinating—from communication and respect to harmony, relationships and social etiquette.

You’ll learn useful vocabulary and expressions for explaining Japanese culture to foreigners, comparing cultural differences respectfully, and talking about traditions and customs.

We'll use dialogues, real-life situations and role-plays to turn what you learn into actual conversation.

No textbook lectures. No pressure to be perfect. Just interesting conversations, useful English and plenty of opportunities to speak.

By the end, you'll be able to talk about Japanese culture in English with greater ease and perhaps see some everyday customs from a completely different perspective.
