Unit 1 - Lesson Pack 1: Making Your First Connection – Self-Introductions in English

Ready to start speaking English from day one?

This beginner-friendly lesson pack is designed to help you take your first steps toward real English communication. You'll learn the essential language needed to introduce yourself, meet new people, and have simple conversations with confidence.

Through a combination of vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, and speaking activities, you'll practice the most important expressions for introducing yourself and getting to know others. You'll learn how to say your name, talk about where you're from, ask and answer basic questions, and complete simple forms using English.

Most importantly, you'll build the confidence to use English in real-life situations. Every lesson is designed to help you speak more naturally and comfortably, even if you're a complete beginner.

By the end of this lesson pack, you'll be able to introduce yourself confidently, understand basic personal information questions, and have your first simple conversations in English.

This is the first step on your journey to becoming a confident English speaker—and a great foundation for all future lessons in the series.

  • This course uses Cambridge and Oxford course material (Primarily Roadmaps).
  • No textbook is required for this course and all materials will be provided.
  • Upon completing each lesson, the student will be sent a copy of the lesson (pdf), an audio file for further practice, and any feedback notes from the lesson.

Cancellation of pack lessons

• 'Unstarted' lesson packs(1) can be cancelled any time. Used Points will be completely refunded. If a 'started' lesson pack(2) is cancelled, you will be refunded 50% of the price of the remaining lessons provided that the lessons are unrequested, unconfirmed or not within 24 hours of their scheduled start times.
(1) A lesson pack for which none of the requests have been confirmed by the tutor.
(2) A lesson pack with at least one confirmed request. (By confirming the date and time for the first lesson in the pack the tutor confirms the pack as a whole and coupons are automatically issued)

Cancelling individual requests in a pack

• If you wish to cancel a single lesson that belongs to a pack but not the whole pack, you can do so via the request page. In this case, the coupon used to book the lesson will either be refunded or collected, based on the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy. Please note that any 50% partial refunds in the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy do not apply to lesson packs and the tutor may choose to either refund or collect the coupon in those cases.
