Description

Objective:

  • To help participants improve their time management skills.

Lesson Plan:

  1. Introduction (5 minutes)

    • Welcome participants and briefly discuss the importance of time management.
    • Share a relatable scenario (e.g., juggling work tasks, personal commitments).
  2. Identifying Priorities (10 minutes)

    • Discuss the Eisenhower Matrix (urgent vs. important).
    • Ask participants to list their current tasks and categorize them.
    • Emphasize the need to focus on important tasks.
  3. Setting SMART Goals (10 minutes)

    • Explain the concept of SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound).
    • Provide examples related to time management (e.g., “Complete project X by Friday”).
    • Ask participants to set a SMART goal for the week.
  4. Time Blocking Technique (10 minutes)

    • Introduce time blocking: allocating specific blocks of time for different tasks.
    • Show a sample time-blocking schedule (e.g., work, exercise, family time).
    • Encourage participants to create their own time blocks.
  5. Overcoming Procrastination (5 minutes)

    • Discuss common procrastination triggers (e.g., perfectionism, lack of motivation).
    • Share strategies to overcome procrastination (e.g., breaking tasks into smaller steps, setting deadlines).
  6. Group Activity: Prioritization Exercise (5 minutes)

    • Provide a list of tasks (e.g., email, project report, team meeting).
    • Ask participants to prioritize them based on urgency and importance.
  7. Wrap-Up and Action Steps (5 minutes)

    • Recap key points from the session.
    • Encourage participants to implement what they’ve learned.
    • Assign the task of creating their own time-blocking schedule.

Homework (Optional):

  • Participants can track their time for a day and reflect on areas for improvement.
