Welcome to tea with Cathy!

You might want to check out my tutor column about teatime, too!

Beginners and pre-intermediate students will enjoy the role-play in my lesson. They will pick up lots of vocabulary about the varieties of tea, the afternoon tea-ceremony in the UK, and phrasal verbs and collocations about tea. Additionally, there will be a short video and a fun quiz.


High intermediate and advanced students will enjoy discussing and article about the British traditions, history and culture around tea, whilst sharing their experiences of tea-culture in their own culture. They will pick up some useful B2/C1 vocabulary and idioms.

Proficient and exam students can add on some extra vocabulary and comprehension work about British culture in general.

In a traditional British teashop, there is usually a  different kind of tea that suits each customer. In the same way I will adapt my lesson about tea to suit each customer.
