🌸 Self-Introduction

Hello! I’m Uncle Hidé, a Japanese tutor living in Hakodate, Hokkaido.

I was born and raised in Fukuoka, on the southern island of Kyushu. In my youth, I traveled around Hokkaido and was captivated by its nature and lifestyle. Later, I spent time in Canada building log homes. After returning to Japan, I ran a furniture workshop and worked in forest conservation. I also worked at a nursing home, supporting elderly care.

Later in life, I developed a spinal disorder and became unable to do physically demanding work. After much reflection, I found a new purpose as a Japanese tutor—something I can do from home while helping learners connect with Japan and its language.

🎓 My Qualifications

I completed a 420-hour Japanese teacher training course and dedicate my “second chapter” to this meaningful and rewarding work now.

I have also completed "The Simple Japanese" Practical Use Course.

📸 My Hobbies

My hobbies include photography, birdwatching, and collecting wooden toys, especially from Europe. I also enjoy exploring Hokkaido’s rich nature, wildlife, and tourist spots—so if you love traveling in Hokkaido and culture, we’ll have plenty to discuss!
