Do you understand the news—but struggle to explain what you think about it clearly in English?

This lesson uses real-world news and current issues as a starting point for thinking, organizing, and speaking in English in real time.

Instead of simply learning vocabulary or having a casual conversation, we work on your ability to:

  • explain ideas clearly
  • organize your thoughts as you speak
  • respond to questions in real time
  • express complex ideas with precision
  • clarify and defend your position when challenged

In each lesson, you will:

  • read or watch a short news article or clip
  • identify how key ideas are structured and expressed
  • summarize the issue in your own words
  • respond to guided questions under light conversational pressure
  • discuss, clarify, and defend your ideas

The goal is not simply to have a discussion.

It is to develop your ability to think, formulate, and respond in English with greater clarity and control.

This is for learners who:

  • already understand English fairly well
  • want to become more articulate when speaking
  • need to discuss real-world topics at work, in study, or in everyday life
  • sometimes know what they want to say but have difficulty putting it into clear English

After the lesson

You’ll receive focused feedback on your clarity, organization, precision, and responsiveness, so you can continue improving not just what you say, but how effectively you express it.

Materials

I provide short news articles or video clips from international news sources.

We may use screen sharing or a whiteboard to examine useful language, argument structure, and ways of expressing ideas.

You’re also welcome to bring a topic or article that you want to discuss.
