What you need to do:
Be prepared to talk a lot.
Be prepared to listen a lot.
Yes, be prepared to listen so that you can get your ears accustomed to native speed talk. Listen so that you can challenge me, so that I can listen to you and do the same. Listen so that we can engage in authentic conversation.
You know how it is in your own language. When you speak to a person, that very person speaks back! Real conversation is reciprocal. It’s an exchange wherein both parties engage each other. Communication is a two-way street :) (:
