Mythical Creatures of the Philippines
(Brought to You by Local Folklore and Nightmares!)
There are many mythological and supernatural creatures in Philippine folklore. Given that it is primarily made up of jumbled tales of terror and wonder, it is not as well-known as those in Western civilizations. However, it has such an impact on the lives of those living in the Philippines that some practices are followed in order to gratify these beings and stop them from tormenting people. So what mystical beings do Filipinos fear the most? What cultural counterparts do they have? How wicked are they, exactly?
