Hi! Good day! My name is Mabel. I’m 48 years old now. I’ve been an ESL teacher since late 1990s. Back then, lessons were done offline only and in some language schools around the city. I taught in some Korean schools that time.
My college major is Food Technology despite the 4 years I studied that major I really never got to practice it. Even before graduating, I already started tutoring English as a volunteer. We had some college mates from nearby Southeast Asian countries that needed assistance with their conversation skills. I enjoyed helping them improve their language ability.
From then on, I just kept teaching English because I find it fulfilling and satisfying. Being able to help someone speak English fluently is something I find valuable. I love the job so much that now it’s my 27th year of teaching English.
It was in 2003, when I came across a Japanese online school and fortunately I got hired, that company jumpstarted my career as an online English teacher to Japanese learners.
I love teaching Japanese people cause I appreciate the Japanese culture. Japanese people are polite, always punctual, always grateful, and really enthusiastic in learning the language no matter what age they are.
Learning a new language can be pretty stressful, but in my lessons I promise you all that it will be fun and productive so in the end you will be able to independently express yourself in the English language with confidence and pride!
See you in my lessons! Thank you!
