Four months since my Cafetalk debut. I've been teaching music for 38 years. I'd like to thank everyone I've met.
If you want to play a song you've always dreamed of... if you want to learn from the basics... if you want to play along... if you want to sing a nursery rhyme or a nostalgic song... please feel free to make a request!
You can use a keyboard, a keyboard harmonica, a nursery rhyme book with piano for little ones, or even a roll piano!
I started taking piano lessons at the age of four at a piano school across the street from my house. The lessons were fun! We had fun singing and doing ensembles. Even when we moved, the piano classroom was right in front of me! I am grateful for the wonderful teachers I had in junior high school, for the exams, in college, and still today.
I teach young children, music students, students preparing for childcare courses, etc. at home.
I switched to online last year because of the Corona situation, and I was amazed at how quickly my little students adapted! I was impressed. I was also surprised at the possibilities of online lessons, such as being able to teach high school students who are staying home.
When I was a junior high school student, I played at a music store, played background music for diploma ceremonies, and had the opportunity to play in front of people, which was a great learning experience.
When I was a college student, I had a part-time job teaching piano and playing piano in hotel lounges, restaurants, and weddings. I was sometimes given the sheet music the day before, "Here! Music sheets for tomorrow, 30 songs!” and I was very well trained in both solo and ensemble playing!
In the restaurant, I once received a request for " Hymn to Love". The customer proposed to his girlfriend on this song! I couldn't make a mistake! With a smile on my face, I played it giving my best (haha).
During my college years, I learned many things besides piano, such as violin, vocals, orchestra, conducting, theory, child and adolescent psychology, and pedagogy.
After graduating from college, I worked as a junior high school music teacher for 10 years, then taught piano while raising my daughters. My daily life, the days spent walking and playing in the park are my precious treasures.
My husband and I have also volunteered to perform about 200 times at hospitals.
I will never forget the serious look in the eyes of the people at the hospice.
There was a patient who passed away during our performance of “Kono michi”. The patient's family thanked us saying that he was listening and he seemed happy as if he was sleeping.
Some people shed tears remembering the old days with nostalgic songs, while others were surprised to hear their family members talking to them firmly after a long time... Music can create various miracles, so I try to face it with sincerity.
I have been a volunteer musician for children for 18 years, and have also played live at puppet shows. The Very Hungry Caterpillar was a popular show. I have also taught at a childcare college. I am also a teacher at a correspondence high school.
