Hello, my name is Yukari. I can speak both English and Japanese fluently. I'm Japanese, but I've spent most of my life abroad including Manila, America and London. I enjoy gardening, reading, and meeting new people. Although I am a qualified dental hygienist, as a former ESL student myself who have managed to get a job in both USA and United Kingdom, I think I can help you improve your English skills. At 5 months old we moved to the Philippines where I attended a Japanese elementary school followed by International school for my middle school education. I returned to Japan when I was 14 and attended Senri International School in Osaka. At age 16, we moved to America. After finishing High school I went on to study Dental hygiene. After receiving my degree and finally receiving my license in Dental Hygiene, I worked in various clinics in America. I moved to England sometime later and worked as a Hygienist in the UK including London for 10 years. In 2010, I took IELTS twice and on both occasions I received 8 out of 9 in Academic IELTS. I received 8.5 out of perfect 9 in speaking. Listeinng and reading. 8.0 IELTS score is equivalent of TOEFL 110-114, CEFR C1, Perfect score in TOEIC, and higher or equivalent to level one in Eiken.

In my lesson:

  • We will have a fun English conversation.

  • I will adapt to your level and purpose.

  • We can talk not just in English, but if needed I can speak and translate in Japanese. Anyone who wish to speak only in English during the lesson, please notify me.

  • We will use articles, books, and videos. Occasionally we might play a game. I also provide a lesson with English songs.

  • Correct your pronunciation, you will learn new vocabularies and phrases.

  • We will talk about the topics of your choice

  • We will proceed the lesson according to your every requirement and we will proceed at your pace. We will work magic together.

  • We can talk about almost any subject you wish including gardening, world events, music, culture, therapy, cooking, TV programs, etc. I have a curious mind so I am willing to talk about subjects that I'm not familiar with, I am happy to learn new things!

  • I will try to accommodate any other requests you may have.

  • Children are welcome too( from elementary ).

  • “Practice makes perfect” - Please do not be afraid of making mistakes. Every mistake you make is a step up on the ladder towards perfection, because you are trying. We all learn by making mistakes. Please ask as many questions as you need to. We will work on it until you fully understand.

 My aim is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where students can talk freely and ask as many questions as they wish. I will be happy to receive any feedback. Please message me on Cafetalk.
