Do you want to study English or Indonesian with a teacher who is fluent in Japanese?
<About Me>
I'm Indonesian with a Chinese heritage who grew up in Indonesia and Singapore. I have also spent a great deal of time in the US and Korea.
Currently, I live with my Korean husband in Jakarta, Indonesia.
I lived in Singapore until high school, and learned English and Chinese under Singapore's education system.
When I was 17, I attended a one-year exchange program at a Japanese high school and that's where I picked up my Japanese Language skill.
Upon graduation from high school, I moved to Boston, which is located on the east coast of the U.S., to continue my College education.
My major was marketing. When I was in Boston, I also had the experience of working at a five stars hotel.
I returned to Singapore and started working in the hotel industry.
With the influence of my Korean friends whom I met while studying abroad in the U.S., I developed a great interest in Korean Language and culture and made up my mind to go to Korea in 2007.
I learned the Korean Language from scratch at a language school in Seoul and after completing my Korean Language program, I received scholarship from a graduate school in Seoul for a master's program in East Asian Studies. After finishing my Graduate School in Seoul, I returned to Indonesia and started working as a recruiter in a Japanese company in Jakarta.
After I got married, I resigned from my job. However, I did not want to end up solely as a housewife because that was tedious for me. I have a strong desire to do something, and then I recalled a message from my Japanese CEO when I was a recruiter. She said, "You're good at teaching and you have the potential to become a teacher." Inspired by her words, I started to embark on my journey as a Language teacher.
Before I start to teach on Cafetalk, I have also worked as a freelance lecturer in Jakarta for three years teaching English and Indonesian Language to Japanese and Korean expats living in Jakarta.
This is my 7th year as an Instructor on Cafetalk.
On Cafetalk, I mainly teach English and Indonesian to Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese students.
I strongly believe teaching is the right path for me as if it's a "vocation".
When my students tell me, "Thank you, teacher. Because of you, I've improved a lot and I've gained confidence", It is indeed the most rewarding moment.
