Hi! I'm Hana.
I’m a coach who specializes in supporting my fellow autistic ADHDers (AuDHDers for short) embrace their unique brains while navigating challenges in daily life.
I do this work because I know first-hand how difficult it is to find neuroaffirming resources and support for AuDHDers.
By neuroaffirming, I mean a perspective which views our unique brains as something to honor and work in collaboration with rather than something to be managed or fixed.
The overwhelming advice given to AuDHDers in our current society is, “Make behavioral changes so you can function better”. (And by better, it means to function more like a neurotypical person.)
Here are some examples:
Having social difficulties? Practice small-talk, act more animated and use more inflections in your voice.
Difficulty getting things done? Prioritize tasks, make a schedule and follow it.
Lacking motivation? Don’t rely on motivation. Just do it.
When AuDHDers try to follow these tips and inevitably struggle, it breeds shame which further sets us back from the more empowered sense of self that is possible with appropriate, neuroaffirming support.
The advice to “just follow neurotypical tips” is quite ineffective in supporting us through the challenges we face because it ignores the fundamental differences between neurotypical and AuDHD brains.
In my coaching, I offer a supportive container in which you will examine the neurotypical mindsets that are causing you frustration and pain, and explore new perspectives that will allow you to work with your AuDHD brain as you navigate daily life.
The ultimate purpose of my coaching is to support you in gaining a deep-rooted sense that you are not wrong for being your AuDHD self. That with the right approach, you can do the things you want to do with more ease than you could have ever imagined.
