Yumiyumi Perfil del(de la) tutor/a

Hello, I'm Yumi. Nice to meet you.

Do you like to study? Is it fun?

Break the vicious cycle of "I don't know" and "I'm not good at it" and beginning from today and turn it into "I understand" equals "it's fun" equals "I'm good at it".

You can't motivate an unmotivated student, but you can help a student who can’t do something to be able to achieve that something.
This is because it's not that they “can't" do it, it's just that they “don't" know how to do it.

Once you start to understand, studying is surprisingly fun!

I like to think about things, and thinking about what can be done to better understand something is the most fun for me.♪

When I see students who used to be poor at a certain subject finally understand it change into more cheerful students, I feel very pleased that I chose "teaching people" as a profession.

Thank you so very much to those of you who take my lessons.
Through meeting so many people on Cafetalk I too feel more encouraged.

Thanks to all of you I have many requests.
I do my very best to give you thorough instruction with full consideration of your circumstances, and I use orignal materials in personalized lessons.

Full of appreciation for every day, I devote myself to consistancy and look forward to seeing you all again.
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
<My lessons>

Currently I'm a private cram school tutor.
With the students I have taught until now, by using study tactics they have all achieved the goals they were aiming at.

"Study enjoyably" is my lesson motto.
We begin by you settting your individual goal.
So that everyone can study enjoyably, I help you stick to the important points while giving you full support.

※Before making a lesson request, please ask for the agreement of the indiviudual in question (the child).

The emphasis is not on “memorizing", but on “thinking” for yourself.
If you learn by “memorizing", you will always “forget", so I try to provide lessons that encourage students to "think" and "learn" independently, aiming to improve their academic skills in the true sense of the word.

The final goal is to develop independence to be in charge of their own learning.
Whatever the lesson may be, becoming able to understand equals "graduation".
I believe that after that comes self-reliance in study.

ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
My daughter does not attend a cram school, but in junior high school, she got full score on all 5 subjects and was accepted to a high school with a deviation of 70+.
Studying is not something to be forced, but something to be done by oneself. Even if you don't go to a cram school, if you have the will to "go to" any school, there is nothing impossible.
 ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
Let's all start with setting a goal.

<Lesson contents>
Elementary school (Japanese) national language
In the junior high school entrance exams, the areas in which the greatest differences in ability can be seen are kanji, kanji compounds and proverbs.
We study the history of the meaning of the kanji. Using images, we also study quadruple kanji compounds and proverbs in a fun way.
Rather than in the form of dry study, we do it in the form of questions in a quiz, all the while engaging in meaningful communication.
Using materials that I have created, it's also possible to do review using Word files which I send you.
Rather than just memorizing, it is thinking on one's own, learning and having the knowledge take root that is the basis of my lesson flow.

Elementary school social science
Many children find social science difficult, so I have created original teaching materials with the utmost consideration to make learning as simple as possible.
〇History will be divided into politics and culture, by period, and students can learn about important people and events in a flow chart.
In my lessons, I will write important words and phrases in a question format, and send students an Excel file to review after the lesson.
〇For geography, I have created original teaching materials using maps, rain temperature maps, as well as national flags.
My teaching material's contents are designed to be enjoyable, rather than cramming knowledge into your head.
For children who find geography difficult, I also offer quiz-like lessons.

Junior high school English
Being not good at English means you haven't gotten a grip on the basics.
English is the same as kanji in that once you know the core words, you can develop and put to use phrasal verbs, idioms and grammar.
After a lecture featuring materials I have made, we conduct a simple checklist.

The lessons are structured in the following way, with the ultimate goal of reading long sentences.
<Step 1> Basic syntax
<Step 2> Vocabulary (prepositions, core verbs)
<Step 3> Grammar

There's no point in a one way discourse, so that is the time when questions can be asked.
We study the fundamentals (sentence structure) as the core, and through a natural progression can start to enjoy grammar which moves on to longer sentence construction.
Once comprehension of a long piece of writing is achieved, you can pass any high school entrance exam.
With my original materials any kind of difficult grammar learned at school can be simplified and explained in more basic terms.

Eiken level mid-2 study tactics
I do correction of workbooks. I explain why a certain mistake was made and once this is understood I follow up with advice.
University entrance exam composition tactics
There are certain tricks for writing in English, and after giving a lecture outlining points in examples, we do a practical exercise. The practice content is sourced from actual material from past exams and therefore can serve as a perfect reference material for university entrance exam composition.

Japanese
I have fun lessons prepared for people who want to learn Japanese.
I also have reading lessons, so please choose what you would like to read and make a lesson request.
For those of you living in Japan and experiencing some difficulties or for those of you wanting someone to speak Japanese with, let's have a fun time talking together!
I'll give you my full support.

(Lastly)
I will be happy to tailor my lessons according to your child's learning pace, personality, and current situation, so if you have any requests, please let me know when you book a lesson.

I will provide full support to improve your child's academic performance so that they can achieve their goals. I will also issue discount coupons, so please take advantage of them.
