안녕하세요!
My name is Kim Yumin, and I work as a Korean language tutor.
I was born in Busan, and majored in elementary education at an educations university. I then worked at an elementary school in South Korea. I studied abroad in Tokyo, Japan, and currently live in Kyoto on a working holiday visa.
After moving to Japan, the most difficult thing for me was communicating with Japanese people. I remember studying Japanese every day, and always watching the news at night to be able to understand Japanese better. I also took on the challenge of having conversations with people whenever I had the chance.
I believe that one of the positives of conversation is that it allows you to learn about what’s happening around you and in the world, without having to use textbooks or the internet. That’s why I enjoy talking with people.
What you need to do in order to become proficient in a language, including being able to speak it, is to experience a lot of trial and error. Language is truly something you learn by actually practicing. The process of finding and correcting your own mistakes is not always fun or quick.
However, I still want to be of some help to those who really want to be able to speak Korean (╹◡╹)
● Profile
At university, I studied about Korean conversation, how to read Hangul letters, writing, grammar, and more aimed for elementary school students, and also taught Korean classes at elementary schools.
● Lesson Style
ーLess lecturing, more practicing and application!
I have been working with children since my university days. However, the way children and adults learn is actually not that different. Learners are able to understand language for the first time when they are able to apply what they had been taught in class to their actual lives. Let’s put the Korean you’ve been learning to use right away.
ーQuestions are always welcome!
A good lesson is created not only by the tutor alone, but created by both the tutor and the student. Please share with me in detail on why you became interested in South Korea and why you want to become fluent in Korean. The better I understand you, the better I can create a good lesson tailored to you.
● Interests and Hobbies
Jogging, strength training, cooking, cleaning, partying,
Going to Disneyland, and going to places I’ve never been before
