Hi everybody. My name is James and I am native English speaker based in London, the UK. Looking for a career change, in April, of this year, I decided to become a teacher of English as a foreign language. I took the CELTA course and I passed. But why this career specifically?
In 2017 I started my language-learning journey when I began learning French. Since then I have studied Portuguese, Arabic and for the last year I have been learning Italian. Sufficed to say, languages have become a big passion of mine.
My CELTA course gave me experience teaching adult upper-intermediate and pre-intermediate learners from China, Japan, Colombia, Brazil, Portugal, Iran and Sudan etc. Since passing, I have also gained experience teaching young learners. This has all been online.
Since then I have taught online for Sparkfish and Bitu - teaching both Chinese and Vietmanese children and adults. I have also taught the Spanish and given conversation practice to adult Polish learners.
