Shinhyejeong Tutor Profile

Hello!
My name is Shin Hyejeong.
(I also love Japanese anime such as Spy x Family!)

I am currently working as a graphic designer in Japan.
I got married last year to my Japanese husband!
(It’s been around 5 years since I started living in Japan.)
We are planning to have our wedding ceremony in South Korea next May!

I mostly converse with my husband in Japanese.
However, I have helped him practice Korean and
taught him repeatedly so that he can pronounce them beautifully.
Thanks to that, when we went to South Korea to greet my parents and friends,
they praised my husband for his Korean, saying his pronunciation was very beautiful and skillful.
My favorite food is mikan (mandarins)! (I love them so much that I often go mandarin picking.) Because of this, when I was a university student, people often called me “Mikan.”
I obtained N1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, and Level 3 in the Kanji Kentei!
Since kanji was really important for daily life in Japan, I worked hard to study and got Level 3, so I think this experience will be useful when teaching Korean to all of you.
When I was in South Korea,
I taught Korean in Japanese for about half a year
to those interested in the language,
which also helped me practice my Japanese!
I learned a lot myself from
the unexpected questions I received!
A picture of my student studying hard.
There were even students who were so interested in my lessons, that they specifically requested my lessons multiple times! (This photo was taken during my lesson.)
I taught Korean to people from abroad in Hongdae and Sinchon! Everyone showed interest and worked hard to study Korean.
While teaching Korean, I also worked hard to study Japanese.
Before I got a full-time job, I had plenty of free time,
so I did volunteer work and also worked part-time as a Korean language teacher.
I have continued to post content on my blog to teach Japanese to Koreans.
I have been studying Japanese for over 10 years now, and I have made many Japanese friends during this time. I taught Korean regularly, and my students often praised me for being good at teaching Korean and making it easier to understand compared to other tutors!

Let’s enjoy studying together!
