Hello everyone! I’m Yuta Tanaka, a fingerstyle guitarist.
I have been playing acoustic guitar for around 20 years, and have been using fingerpicking techniques ever since I started playing the guitar.
I will teach you the finger movements of the 3-finger picking technique and the basics of fingerstyle guitar play.
I especially love blues guitar, and I have experience teaching this style, where you play a steady bass while improvising. I have taught to students not only in Japan, but also to people overseas, including in the US and the UK. Yuta Tanaka
I started learning guitar on my own at the age of 16, influenced by Paul Simon. At 20, I went to the UK alone, experienced busking, and then performed in various countries around the world, including Australia, Germany, and Malaysia. Drawing from American music such as blues, country, and jazz, my ballads in particular have received high praise from listeners.
Performed at the Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival in 2014. Won the Audience Award at the Fingerpicking Day hosted by Moridaira Gakki in 2016. Performed at the Langkawi Blues Festival in 2018 and 2022. Boarded the 115th Peace Boat around-the-world cruise in 2023 as an exclusive musician.
