こんにちわ。Lennです。Thank you for checking my page.
Many years ago, I have thought of tutoring Very Important People of small sizes, children! Given a jump start by my own kids, I started accepting kindergarteners and elementary students in my home. Ironically, the little ones taught me what pedagogy is, and there started my adventure in another vocation, teaching!
I then started one-to-one teaching high school and university age students.
Until one day, I decided to come out from a shell, er my house and explored teaching further and farther.
I gave classes in a community center in Shiga where retirees would usually attend. It was always a pleasure to know and share their passions in a new stage in their lives.
For several years up until the pandemic, I used to give weekly night lessons in a hospital in Kyoto. It was an honor for me to have doctors for students among other medical staff who would regularly join the class.
Around that time too, I was giving after 5:00 business classes to a company in Kyoto. Nostalgia would often hit me as I remember a similar scenario of my young self working on my desk in the Philippines.
Some years earlier, I also worked as a Language teacher in two public schools for elementary kids and in a cram school, both in Kyoto. Teaching children is always a joy, they allow me to be not just their teacher, but just like another child, transforming my work into an enjoyable play.
My lessons cover all the skills in learning a language, i.e., Speaking, Pronunciation, Intonation, Writing, Reading, Grammar, Listening. A little of each in every lesson but I work more on the weakest point of a student.
My favorite authors are Leo Tolstoy and my country's national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. I love writing, children, animals, nature especially the ocean, and generally, everyone.
Thank you for reading.
I'll be delighted to have a lesson chat with you of any topic under the sun.
