Profile

I was born and raised in Japan, and both of my parents are Japanese. I majored in Vietnamese language for 4 years at a Japanese university. After that, I studied abroad for a year at Hanoi University in Vietnam. Including the time I studied on my own, I have been studying Vietnamese for around 7 years now.
I am currently working as a Japanese language tutor in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Vietnamese Language Proficiency

I hold a C1 (advanced level) certification in the International Vietnamese Language Proficiency Test. I use Vietnamese every day at work. I currently live in Hanoi, Vietnam, but I rarely have any difficulties with daily conversations.

As I mentioned in my profile above, I am from Japan and am Japanese, so please rest assured that there will be no issues with communicating in Japanese. Even if you feel “nervous about suddenly talking with a native Vietnamese speaker,” you can take my lessons with ease.
In addition, I believe that I can provide explanations that are easy to understand from a Japanese speaker’s perspective. I do think that I have a reasonable understanding of the points in Vietnamese that might be difficult or confusing for Japanese speakers (though there are of course individual differences), so please rest assured about this.
