I’m currently working as a Korean language tutor in Kobe. I taught English in South Korea for around 15 years, and now I’m teaching Korean here in Japan, a country I love, while also studying Japanese myself.
I know exactly how it feels when you’re studying another language and feel, “Ugh, I can’t say this right!” or “Why do they say it like this?” That’s why I want to support you every step of the way, moving forward steadily while comforting you along the way.
I spent 15 years teaching at a cram school in Seoul’s Daechi-dong, which is in South Korea’s most competitive educational district, and is also known as the setting for programs like “SKY Castle” and “一타스캔들.” I’m going to take the “study methods for guaranteed short-term growth” that I improved during this period and put everything I’ve got into helping you master the Korean language!
Also, since my Japanese partner is a huge fan of Korean dramas and we often watch them together, I can naturally convey the realistic expressions and subtle nuances of Korean culture that frequently appear in these shows.

① Student-Centered Lessons
Most of the lesson time is for “student speaking time.” I provide focused, essential feedback only when it’s truly necessary. Rather than correcting everything all at once, I repeatedly practice only the most critical points to ensure you actually master them.
② Combining Grammar × Conversation
Once you have a solid grasp of the grammatical foundations, I will immediately connect them to real-life conversation. I will assist your entire learning journey, including efficient study methods, memorization tips, vocabulary organization, and review routines.
③ Learn through K-Dramas and K-POP (Optional)
Master natural ways of speaking using expressions from actual dramas and variety shows. I provide detailed explanations of the context (culture, relationships, etiquette, and nuances) so you can understand the “why” behind the language.
④ Support for University Admission in South Korea (For prospective students)
Step-by-step assistance for all the Korean language skills needed for university admission, from proofreading self-introductions and study plans to interview preparation. We will work together to create a preparation roadmap tailored to your current level and goals.
What I’m especially good at:
✓ Correcting pronunciation that Japanese speakers struggle with, such as batchim, liaison, fortis, and aspirated sounds. ✓ Explaining the differences between Korean and Japanese in an easy-to-understand manner, such as the proper use of particles 은/는 and 이/가, as well as word order. ✓ Explaining nuances, such as “which expression sounds more natural.” ✓ Providing clear explanations by comparing Korean, Japanese, and English. ✓ Introducing real, up-to-date expressions and trends that go beyond what’s in textbooks.
Hobbies and Interests:
I love watching Korean and Japanese dramas, listening to music, reading, and cooking. Since I often watch Korean dramas with my partner, I’m always keeping up with the latest trends and popular expressions! During our lessons, I want to create plenty of “Oh, I heard that in a drama!” moments for you.
The more mistakes you make, the faster you’ll improve.
In my lessons, the most important thing is for you to speak Korean with confidence, without being afraid of making mistakes. It’s okay to mess up! Let’s grow together steadily while having a good laugh. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you!
