Nice to meet you. I am Kayoko Ōyoshi.

Please call me KAYO(かーよー).

When I was in junior high school, my grade in English was a 2 on a 5-point scale.

At the time, I hated English.


However, in high school, one thing led to another, and I fell in love with English, then before I knew it, my English grade was a 5, even though I did not study at all in school.

After that, I fell in love with English even more and wanted to be able to speak it better, which is why I went to study in the United States when I was in my twenties.

I went to an English language school in San Francisco, California, USA for three years, then spent another three years at a local community college, graduated at the last minute (haha), and spent the last year working at a daycare center.

The seven and a half years I spent in the U.S. gave me so many different experiences that had a really big impact on my life.


After returning to Japan, I did a lot of work using English.

Being able to speak English expanded my range of work, which was a great advantage for me.

Among them, I have worked as an English conversation tutor, teaching students from 2 years old up to 52 years old.


As it is not my mother tongue, I still make many mistakes, but I will give lessons focusing on the finest of details for each student by explaining the weak points that native English speakers can't teach because I learned them as a Japanese. Lastly I will teach about what kind of practice will help the students improve their conversational skills.

I hope that this experience will be of some use to you. I look forward to working with you.

●7.5 years in the U.S.
(3 years at an English language school, 3 years at a community college, 1 year at a nursery school)
●Worked at a US military base in Okinawa for 9 years.
(3 years as a waitress, bartender, cashier, etc.; 6 years as a telephone operator)
●Six years as an English teacher.
(3 English conversation schools for children, 4 years; English conversation class at home, 2 years)
