Nice to meet you! I'm Hiroco, a Japanese language tutor!

I was born and raised in Osaka. When you think of Osaka, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and the Osaka dialect probably come to mind.

I love conversation and humor myself, so in my lessons, I place a high value on having a good laugh together while still focusing on serious learning.

▶ Background & Achievements (Strengths as a Professional)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━● Completed the Japanese Language Teacher Training Course at university and passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test.

  • Have taught mainly in Europe and Asia, marking 10 years of teaching experience this year (2026).
  • Support students from various angles using my diverse background in translation/interpretation at an IT company, recruitment consulting, corporate sales, and theatrical activities abroad.

I never end an explanation with a simple "That's just how it is in Japan."

  • Why is this expression used?
  • What kind of interpersonal distance or cultural background lies behind it?
  • How would it sound to the other person in a professional workplace?

Instead of leaving things vague, I explain them as clearly and logically as possible.

  • "I am speaking politely, but my true meaning isn't getting across."
  • "I want to express a counteropinion or a problem without damaging my relationships."
  • "I don't understand the unspoken rules of the Japanese workplace."
