Hello. I am Samu-sensei. ^^

I majored in Japanese language and literature in university. I have always enjoyed writing and dreamed of becoming an author, but when I was in my senior year in university, the Japanese language, which I had initially started as a hobby, changed my life.

Speaking Japanese was so much fun... So back then, I used Japanese all the time, both day and night. I watched Japanese movies and dramas, and watched Japanese TV shows. The TV show I watched the most was “HEY! HEY! HEY!,” and I remember feeling sad when it ended.

I obtained Level 1 in the JLPT after a year of studying, when I was almost graduating. After thinking about my future career path, I decided to use the Japanese language I had studied so hard for, as well as what I had learned as my major, to get a job in teaching Korean.

Korean as a foreign language is a little different from learning it as your native language, so after continuing to study teaching methods for about a year after graduation, I went to Japan.

I taught Korean in Japan for around 17 years, while interacting with students from a wide range of ages, starting from teenagers to people in their 70s.
I really enjoyed teaching while interacting with students of different generations and having conversations on varying topics.

It has been almost a year since I returned to South Korea, and I am in a slightly different career path now, but my 17 years of experience as a Korean language tutor in Japan are precious memories that I will never forget. Ah... How I wish I could go back to those days... ㅠㅠ

As I had been experiencing these feelings, I decided to start teaching students again. Perhaps because I hadn’t taught for around a year, I had what you might call “withdrawal symptoms (!?)” from teaching... I had felt listless and just couldn’t seem to find any motivation... ; ;

This is why I am truly looking forward to meeting new students on Cafetalk. I am honestly excited about what kind of people will become my student, and what kind of conversations we will be able to have.

I am interested in a variety of fields, so I enjoy talking about any topic.

Please tell me about the things you enjoy and about your interests.

I am looking forward to meeting you in our lessons.

I apologize that my profile got a bit long. ; ; Thank you so much for reading this far!
