Hi, I'm Mark and I am an English teacher with over 20 years teaching experience. I am from the UK and have been living in Tokyo, Japan for nearly 20 years.
I am a CELTA qualified English teacher, and I also have an MBA in International Human Resource Management. In addition, I have an MA in Japanese Language and Society, and therefore I understand the difficulties involved in learning a foreign language.
I offer a wide range of English courses and professional services.
The courses I teach include:
I can also help you:
What I absolutely love about teaching is helping my students to achieve their goals. In my lessons, my students get a lot of opportunities to practice speaking using new vocabulary and grammar, and I provide a lot of support and feedback including correction of any vocabulary or grammar mistakes they make. I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing my students use new vocabulary and grammar and communicate more confidently and accurately in English.
In all of my lessons, I use my own unique lesson materials, and in my Skype lessons, I write down all the new words I teach and corrections I make, so that my students can clearly understand, and also have a written record of what they have studied.
What I am particularly interested in, is finding out about you, my students, and what you are interested in and how I can help you to learn and develop and achieve your study and professional goals.
In my free-time, I enjoy running, cycling, hiking and spending time with my family. I especially love spending time in the mountains close to where I live. I have a lot of energy, but that is probably because of my wife's fantastic Japanese cooking!!
My students tell me that I am very friendly, supportive, professional and easy to understand. They also tell me that I have a very warm personality and that my feedback is clear and helps them to improve their English.
If you want to quickly improve your English with a professional, friendly, creative and enthusiastic teacher, please contact me to request a lesson.
I look forward to helping you improve your English and achieve your goals.
Good Luck!!
Mark
