I'm originally from Barcelona, Spain, and I've recently moved to Japan. One of the things I love most about living here is discovering all the little differences between cultures. Even though Tokyo is the biggest city in the world, I often feel it's surprisingly calm and peaceful. I'm still exploring Japan, so maybe one of you will help me discover my favourite place!
I've always enjoyed working in education, especially with children. I started as an activity leader at a summer camp, where I discovered how much I loved creating games, designing my own learning materials, and finding new ways to make learning fun. That experience made me realize that becoming a language teacher was exactly what I wanted to do.
People often ask me why I love languages so much. The answer is simple: I'm incredibly curious. I love understanding how things work and why people express ideas differently around the world. Learning a language isn't just about vocabulary or grammar—it's about understanding another way of thinking.
Lately I've been studying Japanese, and one of the things that fascinates me most is kanji. I love how many characters describe ideas so visually and literally. Every language has its own way of seeing the world, and that's exactly what keeps me motivated to keep learning.
When I'm not teaching, you'll probably find me listening to podcasts while walking around a city. I absolutely love walking for hours, looking at buildings, wondering what they're like inside, and simply observing everyday life. I also enjoy movies, anime (ever since moving to Japan!), and long conversations about cultural differences. I find it fascinating how something completely normal for one person can be surprising for someone from another country.
And one more thing... I'm a huge coffee and tea lover. ☕? If you'd like to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea during our lesson, please do! I think warm drinks make conversations feel more relaxed, and learning is always easier when you're comfortable.
I don't believe learning a language should feel like doing endless grammar exercises from a textbook.
Of course, grammar is important—we need a solid foundation. But after learning something new, I want you to use it immediately through conversation and real communication.
I like creating my own materials whenever possible and using podcasts, videos, visual explanations and real-life situations to make lessons practical and engaging. My goal isn't just to teach you the language, but to help you actually use it with confidence.
Whether you're preparing for a trip, a job interview, improving your pronunciation, or simply looking for someone to practice speaking with, I'll adapt the lesson to your goals and pace.
Most importantly, I want you to finish every lesson feeling more confident, more motivated, and excited to keep learning.
And if you're feeling nervous before your first lesson... don't worry.
We'll simply start by talking about something you enjoy—your hobbies, your day, your favourite food, anything! Speaking about familiar topics helps you relax naturally.
Making mistakes is part of learning, so there's absolutely nothing to worry about.
I hope to meet you soon!
