Hi, I'm Mitsuki Matsushita (Luna) — please call me Luna in our lessons! I'm a bilingual English tutor based in Tokyo, teaching conversation, business English, job interviews, DET, TOEFL, IELTS, Eiken, pronunciation and free talk.
My lessons are especially for: learners who understand English but freeze when it's time to speak; returnees who want to get their speaking back; business professionals who use English at work; and test takers preparing for speaking tests. Beginners are welcome too — I can explain in Japanese when you need it.
I moved to Vancouver, Canada as a high school student and spent about five years there, attending high school and college. After returning to Japan, I worked in bilingual roles, including retail at Apple and B2B support at Booking.com. I have taught English for 8 years, to students of all ages. My own test scores are DET 140 and TOEFL iBT 85, and in test preparation I build a practical curriculum around speaking practice.
In lessons, you do most of the talking. We practise phrases you can use right away, and I correct mistakes kindly and concretely. At the end of each lesson, you will leave with clear feedback on what to practise next. Start with a trial lesson and we can check your level and goals together.
Outside of teaching, I love coffee and exploring new cafes around Tokyo. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
