今日のお題は、What's your favorite music instrument? ですね。

I used to take a piano lesson once a week when I was small.
It wasn't my intention, actually.
My mother invested her dream in me.

子どもの頃、週に１度ピアノのレッスンを受けていました。
やりたかったわけではありませんよ。
母が自分の夢を私に託したのです。

I was a tomboy at heart.
To me, sitting still in front of a piano was something like a torture.
Why on earth shouldn't I go outside to play basketball?!

I felt extremely happy when I knew my family would be moving. 
"Ah, no more piano. My normal life will come back!"

それでも数年経つと、

"Ah, I shouldn't have given up practicing."
そんな風に思うようになりました。

その時は辛くても、後で「続けていて良かった」と思うことがあります。
あきらめるのは簡単。

でも、簡単な道から得るものって、なんでしょう。


I recommended my daughter to take a piano lesson,
and she enjoyed her practice for a year.
