Decorating for the holiday season is a great way to celebrate your own culture, share that celebration with your community and enjoy the unique holiday thematic style. This doesn’t require a large amount of effort by the home owner, but sometimes homeowners prefer the effort.

When I go for walks in my neighborhood I see some homeowners have nice colorful lights for the Christmas season. These lights are hung along the edge of the roof. It gives the architecture a very nice winter festivity feel. They might even have some lights on the ground. Maybe there will be a plastic statue of Santa.

There are other houses where every part of the house, the yard, the patio and the windows are all covered in decorations. These houses will have air filled and illuminated Snoopy decorations. They will have air filled and illuminated Santa decorations. They will have illuminated plastic reindeer. They will have lights on every edge of the house. They will have lights hanging from the tree branches.

A new device that is becoming popular is a laser projector. It displays Christmas or winter images onto the house. These intensely decorated houses will have one or maybe two laser projectors.

It amazes me. It looks very nice, but I do wonder about the electricity bill of such a house.

For my house we may put up lights or simply hang a nice wreath on the front door. Sometimes wemight put up lights in the windows. We like to keep it simple.
