The difference between -ed and -ing

Brian L

“-ed” → how you feel (the person’s emotion)
“-ing” → what causes the feeling (the thing or situation)

Examples
I am confused. → (my feeling)
This book is confusing. → (the book causes the feeling)
I am bored. → (my feeling)
This movie is boring. → (the movie causes boredom)
She is interested in music. → (her feeling)
Music is interesting. → (music causes interest)
