How Skydiving Changed My Perspective on Life

Zeenath

Last July, I went skydiving for the first time. I traveled by bus to a beautiful villa, where I spent the morning relaxing in the gardens before skydiving.

I visited a cafe on a lake for breakfast. And ended up eating something not so healthy.

I also met a cute, furry friend.

My sister had already tried skydiving a month earlier, and after hearing about her experience, I wanted to try it too. I have always believed that if there is something exciting and safe to try, it is worth doing at least once in your life.

I was finally in the plane. When the plane climbed higher and higher, I started to feel nervous. Very nervous.

I remember thinking, "I am about to jump out of a plane from 13,000 feet..."

Even though I was scared, I did not to back out. A few moments later, I was falling through the sky.

And then something unexpected happened.

Instead of feeling afraid, I felt free.

The icy cold air rushed past me. Below me, I could see the ocean, the sunset and the beach. Everything looked beautiful from above. For a few minutes, this was all I could see.

It is difficult to describe the feeling. You have to trust the experience and enjoy the moment. That day taught me something rather important.

Sometimes the things we fear the most become some of our best memories.

If I had listened to my fear, I would have stayed on the plane and missed out on a really great experience.

Now I understand why people enjoy extreme sports like skydiving and bungee jumping. These activities remind us that the world is much bigger than our fears.

Would I do it again?

Absolutely.

In fact, I would do it as many times as possible!
