A haunting and mysterious pagoda at night in Nara Park.

Yesterday I was finally able to have a brief exploration around our new home in Nara city!

Saturdays are always busy for me, and with over 10 hours of teaching work I was left with little time to go out.

Fortunately I had a one hour break in the late evening in which I was able to go for a run and stretch my legs. I had a wonderful time and managed to see lots of the tourist sights in a different light (and with no one around - therefore making them far more peaceful and appealing to me!) as well as exploring the deer park.

I stopped when I saw this pagoda from afar and realised I just had to take some pictures. The ghostly image of the pagoda seemed to be luring me over, and I would have loved to have sat down in it to read or meditate in a late evening. This would be sheer bliss for me!

Fortunately we will be in Nara for sometime, and I am already feeling that this is our new spiritual home!

The connection and deep respect for nature from the people here is something which I have been longing for in my surroundings, but was never able to experience in London, and even in the more beautiful places in Japan which are very densely populated.

Nara feels real. It feels authentic. And it most certainly has a spiritual vibe reasonating through the air!

I finally feel 'at home'.

I look foward to what the upcoming months will bring.
