Fancy a Cuppa? English for Cafés & Afternoon Tea
課程介紹
Lesson: Ordering Food & Drink in English
Level: Beginner | Duration: 30-45 mins
1. Warm-up (5 mins)
Quick chat: "Do you like coffee or tea? What do you usually order at a cafe?" Gets them thinking about a real situation they'll actually use this in.
2. Core language (10 mins)
Teach essential café/restaurant phrases:
- "Can I have a..." / "I'd like a..."
- "Could I get the menu, please?"
- "What do you recommend?"
- "How much is it?"
- "That's all, thanks." / "Just this, please."
Cover polite requests, please/thank you, and basic numbers for prices.
3. Controlled Practice (10 mins)
Show pictures of food/drinks and menu prices, have the student build simple order sentences: "I'd like a coffee, please." / "Can I have a sandwich?"
4. Wrap-up (5 mins)
Recap key phrases. Homework: record a video role playing going for afternnoon tea or next time they're at a cafe or shop, try using one new phrase in real life.
