Learn the finer points of verb phrases!

This lesson is designed for intermediate or advanced learners. Have you noticed that some English words tend to go together more often than others, but you don't understand why? Let's clear up that confusion!
Learning outcome: After this lesson, you should be able to recognize some common collocations - words that often go together to make verb phrases in English:
The lesson then moves on to meaning; you will be asked to define each phrase in your own words, with along help and feedback from me.
A short matching game will follow, in which you will try to build as many phrases as possible. For example, you might be asked to find all of the words in a list that can go together with "make" and then come up with a new sentence containing the phrase.
To wrap up the lesson, you will be encouraged to look for collocations as you go about your usual activites during the following week, and to keep a journal of the collocations you notice.
