A systematic, evidence-based approach for children learning how to read and spell.

课程介绍

Learning to read and spell is a skill which often either overlooked or improperly taught in the Young Learner classroom.

I teach phonics using the Sounds-Write program. I completed training to teach this course in September 2020.

About Sounds-Write

Sounds-Write is a quality first phonics programme. Its purpose is to provide classroom professionals with a comprehensive system with which to teach reading, spelling and writing.

Sounds-Write is used in schools across the UK, Australia and New Zealand. It's appropriate for children aged 4 years and older across all levels of reading ability.

Sounds-Write teaches children how to read and spell without the need to memorize.

Sounds-Write is taught using the same methodology and lesson plans globally. Your child will receive the same instruction as a child in the UK or Australian School.

Sounds-Write is:
Systematic: there is a syllabus of sounds (initial code, extended code) which are followed in order.
Evidence-based: Sounds-Write was developed by a linguist and is the phonics program of choice for the Dyslexia Foundation in Australia
Synthetic: Sounds-Write uses the 'synthetic phonics approach'. Learners are taught to segment and blend individual sounds into words

Trial Class
I will conduct a phonics screen to assess your child's reading ability. I will then talk to the parent/guardian after the assessment, and explain their child's learning plan.
