- You can use these coupons to send requests for the remaining lessons.
- The validity period for this lesson pack is 45 days starting from the scheduled date and time of the first confirmed lesson.

Even if the first scheduled lesson is canceled, the already set validity period will not change.

Turn the news into regular English practice!

This 4-lesson pack is perfect for students who want to build their speaking confidence, vocabulary and fluency through regular discussions about current events.

In each lesson, we’ll use a different news article as the starting point for conversation. We’ll explore useful vocabulary and expressions, clarify difficult language, and most importantly,talk about the story and your opinions about it.

Across the four lessons, you’ll have repeated opportunities to:

  • Speak confidently about current events
  • Express and support your opinions
  • Learn useful vocabulary and expressions in context
  • Improve pronunciation and natural sentence structure
  • Develop your ability to explain more complex ideas
  • Become more comfortable having spontaneous conversations in English

The goal is not simply to read and understand an article. We’ll use the news as a way to get youthinking and communicating naturally in English.

Topics will change from lesson to lesson, so we might discuss international news, society, technology, science, culture, business, lifestyle or other interesting stories from around the world.

This pack is best suited forintermediate to advanced learnerswho want consistent speaking practice and enjoy discussing real-world topics.

No need to be a news expert! 😊 Come ready to read, think, share your perspective and have an interesting conversation.

This tutor's cancellation policy

Cancellation of pack lessons

• 'Unstarted' lesson packs(1) can be cancelled any time. Used Points will be completely refunded. If a 'started' lesson pack(2) is cancelled, you will be refunded 50% of the price of the remaining lessons provided that the lessons are unrequested, unconfirmed or not within 24 hours of their scheduled start times.
(1) A lesson pack for which none of the requests have been confirmed by the tutor.
(2) A lesson pack with at least one confirmed request. (By confirming the date and time for the first lesson in the pack the tutor confirms the pack as a whole and coupons are automatically issued)

Cancelling individual requests in a pack

• If you wish to cancel a single lesson that belongs to a pack but not the whole pack, you can do so via the request page. In this case, the coupon used to book the lesson will either be refunded or collected, based on the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy. Please note that any 50% partial refunds in the tutors single-lesson cancellation policy do not apply to lesson packs and the tutor may choose to either refund or collect the coupon in those cases.

This lesson is “Immediately Confirmed”

If the requested date falls within 30 days, the request will be “confirmed” immediately without having to wait for the tutor to reply.

Requests will be confirmed immdiately expect the first one of a pack. If confirmed immediately, the policy “before request is confirmed” will not apply.

About “Immediate Confirmation”

Before request is confirmed (fixed)

  • Cancellation possible at any time without charge.

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
